At 511 Fulton Street, the Elks Lodge 1762 has been a gathering point for Carthage and the surrounding Jefferson County community for generations. Members come for the camaraderie, stay for the causes, and keep returning because this lodge genuinely delivers on the Elks' founding promise: to do good in the community you live in. With a 4.5-star rating from 60 local reviewers, the proof is in the people who show up.

Twice a year, the dining room fills up for the Mother's Day and Father's Day brunches, where the guest of honor eats free and the whole family loads up at an all-you-can-eat buffet for just $12 per additional adult. These events have become a Carthage tradition in their own right, drawing families back year after year. The hall, the food, and the friendly members who make it all run are what people remember.

Lodge 1762 is chartered under the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, one of America's oldest fraternal organizations, with a national network you can visit at elks.org. Membership opens the door to a community of people who take local service seriously and know how to have a good time doing it.

What We Offer

Lodge 1762 offers its members and guests a full slate of social, dining, and charitable programming throughout the year. The bar and lounge are a cornerstone of daily lodge life, a place to unwind with fellow members after work or catch up on the week. Service here is personal and familiar, the kind you get when the person pouring your drink actually knows your name.

Beyond the bar, the lodge hosts seasonal banquets and holiday brunches that are open to members and their families. The Father's Day and Mother's Day buffets are flagship events, offering a hot spread and a relaxed family atmosphere at a price that makes celebrating accessible. Private event rentals and lodge-sponsored charity drives round out the calendar, giving members consistent opportunities to give back to Carthage and Jefferson County.

Membership in Elks Lodge 1762 also connects you to the national organization's scholarship programs, veterans' outreach, and community grants, meaning your dues do real work well beyond the walls at Fulton Street.

"Walked in with a group of three. The two were asked if they wanted a drink but didn't ask me and walked by me. Continue to walk by me never asked me if I wanted anything. Terrible service and not friendly atmosphere. If your not from around this area then avoid this place. Will never step foot in here again."

"Food always tast good to me. Love getting food from here especially when they have a special. It's home cooked tasting food. Seriously if you ever want some good home-cooked like food call and see if they are serving and if they have any specials. They don't serve food everyday. So just a heads up on that."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
